In the early 2000s, Baron and Budd mesothelioma lawyers took on a case against Louisiana’s Supreme Court in Rando v. Anco Insulationsregarding the time limit to file a mesothelioma lawsuit.

At the time, Louisiana workers’ compensation law stated that a mesothelioma patient who developed cancer due to occupational asbestos exposure would not be able to recover compensation through the legal system if that exposure occurred prior to 1975. However, we would not give up. Ultimately, we were able to convince the Louisiana Supreme Court that, since mesothelioma cancer can take decades to manifest, mesothelioma patients should not be barred obtaining compensation if their exposure occurred decades previously.
