Baron & Budd proudly sponsors the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN).
A non-profit alliance of 21 of the nation’s leading cancer treatment centers, The National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) is dedicated to providing cutting-edge cancer care.
The NCCN Clinical Guidelines serve as the organization’s centerpiece. These guidelines help physicians create effective schedules for the treatment of cancer that address each patient’s individual needs. The NCCN, through these guidelines, is working toward creating a uniform method of caring for patients with cancer across the country. These standards are designed to be of the highest quality and as up-to-date as possible. Currently, the organization is working to translate these guidelines into a more patient-friendly form, known as the NCCN Patient Guidelines.
However, it takes financial resources to translate the clinical guidelines into easy-to-understand information for patients and caregivers. Due to the resources available, patient guidelines have only been developed for certain types of cancer. Baron & Budd was honored to be able to contribute to the creation of the NCCN Patient Guidelines for Mesothelioma in 2011. These guidelines were updated a year later.
The president and managing shareholder of Baron & Budd, Russell Budd, was a member of the NCCN Foundation Board, the organization’s philanthropic arm. The Board, which is chaired by cancer survivor and ABC News veteran Sam Donaldson, works toward developing the NCCN Patient Guidelines and other helpful resources for cancer patients.
