About the Duke Comprehensive Cancer Center:
The Duke Comprehensive Cancer Center has been nationally recognized by several leading organizations for excellence in cancer research, diagnosis and patient care. At the Duke Comprehensive Cancer Center, we combine cutting-edge research with compassionate care. We treat more than our patients’ cancers — we care for the patient as a whole person.
The Duke Thoracic Oncology Program is dedicated to improving the care and outcomes of patients with lung cancer and other thoracic malignancies such as mesothelioma and thymoma.
Our team of specialists includes nationally known thoracic surgeons, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, pulmonologists, and other professionals, many of whom have been rated best in the region and nation by their physician peers. Most focus exclusively on lung cancer, giving them a rare depth of knowledge and experience.
The Duke Thoracic Oncology Program is also a national leader in the development of novel treatments for lung cancer. Our specialists have pioneered minimally invasive surgical approaches as well as new medical therapies that achieve successful results with fewer side effects.
Duke offers patients access to an extensive array of clinical trials, a factor which has been proven to improve outcomes.
