Baron & Budd has a reputation as a national leader among mesothelioma law firms.

National Law Journal’s Plaintiffs’ “Hot List”

Each year, the National Law Journal selects about a dozen plaintiffs’ law firms that have successfully handled significant cases that helped shape the law on a national scale.

We have been named to the prestigious National Law Journal plaintiffs’ “Hot List” eight times as an exemplary law firm that has done “cutting-edge work on the plaintiffs’ side” (published by American Lawyer Media, 2002-2006, 2008, 2011-2012).

Highest Mesothelioma Verdict Ever in the State of Texas

In 2001, Baron and Budd achieved the highest ever mesothelioma verdict in Texas for Mr. Alfredo Hernandez, a construction worker who was exposed to asbestos through his work with joint compounds. Our attorneys received a $55 million verdict for Mr. Hernandez and his family. Even today, this verdict still stands as the all-time highest mesothelioma verdict ever reached in Texas.

Highest Mesothelioma Verdict in California in 2012

Baron and Budd attorneys achieved a $48 million verdict for Mr. Bobbie Izell against Union Carbide, a subsidiary of Dow Chemical, and others asbestos companies including Riverside Cement and CalPortland. Though Union Carbide brought in expert witnesses to testify that the company’s asbestos was safe, confidential internal memos revealed that the company knew about the dangers of asbestos, but chose to hide the truth. This verdict is the largest mesothelioma verdict reached in California in 2012.
