PHLBI launches new mesothelioma Web site
The Pacific Heart, Lung & Blood Institute (PHLBI) recently launched a new Web site to deliver up to date information and news to mesothelioma patients, caregivers and healthcare providers. PHLBI is a non-profit medical research institute focusing on the treatment and prevention of malignant pleural mesothelioma. Part of the focus of the Web site will be devoted to the innovative multi-modal approach to treating pleural mesothelioma devised by PHLBI’s Scientific Advisor, Dr. Robert Cameron.
The Web site also features mesothelioma educational materials and additional resources to help patients make informed decisions about treatment options. Dr. Cameron’s nurse practitioner, Anne Rorie, will answer questions and concerns related to mesothelioma and offer holistic as well as traditional care advice. The site offers patient point of view via profiles and video interviews, and a contact service to put patients in touch to share treatment outcomes and experiences.
