Asbestos flooring removed at New Jersey school

The second round of bidding for the Martha B. Day (MBD) School project in New Jersey is over and the second lowest bidder was accepted. Two Brothers Contracting agreed to perform asbestos abatement on two floors of the school for a total of around $36,000. The project is expected to be complete before the start of the coming school year. The project will be supervised by an environmental engineer and the air quality will be tested during and after the project.

Asbestos removal is strictly regulated due to the health hazards involved. Exposure to asbestos can led to mesothelioma, lung cancer and other serious illnesses.
