Historic Ohio elementary school comes down
Amelia Elementary School in Cincinnati, Ohio was built in 1930 and has seen generations of children come through the doors. Tearing down a school so full of memories is bittersweet for the community residents who came out to watch, but overall, the mood was happy and hopeful. The new school will have state-of-the-art technology and is designed to take advantage of natural light.
The demolition was delayed by about a week due to asbestos abatement, but the asbestos removal work is not expected to delay the opening of the new school. The area where the old building stands is planned to be green space.
