Federal funding allows Michigan school district to demolish three buildings
Federal funding from the Neighborhood Stabilization Program has been approved to tear down three schools in Taylor, Michigan. Monroe and Racho Elementary schools and Taylor Center High School will be razed to the ground after asbestos removal. Asbestos is a toxic substance that can cause serious illnesses like mesothelioma and asbestosis. The school district will retain control of the land following demolition. No plans are currently in the works for using the land.
