Cleveland Public Theatre gets $200k for asbestos cleanup

The Ohio Department of Development announced recently that $200,000 from a new fund designed to clean up and revitalize historic sites was awarded to the Cleveland Public Theatre to help renovate the theater and remove asbestos from the ceiling. The effort is part of the multimillion-dollar redevelopment that has taken place in historic Gordon Square Arts District over the last few years. The funding should be sufficient to replace the asbestos-laden ceiling in Gordon Square Theatre. Work is scheduled during the off season from January to March when the theater is usually closed.
