Israeli HMO to reimburse patients for miRview cancer test

Clalit Health Services is the largest health provider in Israel, supplying medical care to more than 50% of the population, operating 14 hospitals, over 1,300 clinics and about 400 pharmacies. Clalit recently announced that it will begin a reimbursement policy for Rosetta Genomics’ miRview(TM) mets test.

Initially, the test will be administered via a clinical trial, but eventually will be available for all Clalit patients. Rosetta Genomics’ miRview(TM) mets test is administered to determine the primary site for metastatic cancer, a vital component of treatment at the root of the disease. Rosetta Genomics also makes the miRview meso test to identify patients who have mesothelioma, a cancer caused by asbestos exposure.
