Potsdam trustees voted unanimously to rehire Civic Center employee
Potsdam, New York Village Court Clerk Shelley Warner was fired nearly a year ago for insubordination immediately after she expressed concern about potential asbestos contamination and other workplace safety issues in a newspaper article. Ms. Warner filed suit for wrongful termination in September. She claims she was fired for speaking out, not for insubordination. The Village board of trustees agreed to rehire Ms. Warner and pay a $12,213 settlement if she agreed to drop the lawsuit.
