Bachelorette suitor Kirk reveals medical problems from toxic exposure
On a June episode, Kirk won the coveted one-on-one date with lovely Ali on ABC’s The Bachelorette. After picking out matching sweaters at a local boutique in Iceland, Kirk and Ali enjoyed a heart to heart over a cup of tea that included some personal revelations. Kirk recounted that he nearly died while living in an old house riddled with mold and asbestos he was unaware of at the time. Asbestos exposure can cause latent diseases—like mesothelioma, asbestosis or asbestos-related lung cancer—that may take decades to be diagnosed.
The suitor explained that, after re recovered from the effects of the old exposure, the near death experience left him with a heightened sense of purpose and a desire to create more meaningful relationships in his life.
