New Jersey library to reopen months after explosion

The cause of an explosion that left most of the Morristown & Morris Township Library in shambles is still undetermined. Public Service Enterprise Group (PSE&G) claims that the gas line installed at the building is not to blame because natural gas was not detected after the explosion. They acknowledge that some gas caused the explosion, but maintain it did not come from their lines. Jersey Central Power & Light (JCP&L) also denies responsibility, even though other underground explosions in Morristown have been the result of heat from underground electrical equipment causing compressed gas to explode.  A complete investigation has been delayed by the presence of asbestos in the rubble.

The parts of the building least damaged may be open sometime in August, but it is undetermined whether the electricity will be restored by then.
