Former Chrysler plant coming down to become a research facility
The old Chrysler auto assembly plant in Newark, New Jersey will be renovated as a research and technology facility. The renovation project of the 3.4 million square feet will include asbestos abatement, recycling and safe disposal of building materials. The list of contractors under consideration has been narrowed to six. The criteria for selection included a commitment to hiring local vendors as well as experience in comparable and health and safety programs.
