Mark Twain birthplace reopens after asbestos abatement
The Mark Twain museum, which houses the actual log cabin where Samuel Clemens was born along with some of his hand-written works and other memorabilia, officially opened its doors on the anniversary of Twain’s death, April 21, but one of the two galleries remained closed to the public until May 5. The museum closed in January while asbestos tiling was removed from the ceiling and repairs were done. In honor of the occasion, the museum is hosting an exhibit of editorial obituary cartoons.
