EPA reviewing buried asbestos site
For 20 years, the San Francisco office of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has been monitoring an asbestos dump site at the Mountain View Mobile Home Estates in Globe, California. Metate Asbestos Corporation buried and capped the asbestos waste there 27 years ago, and Neal-Capper-Neal Land Development Corporation, owned by the same family, built a mobile home park on top of it. The EPA will test for asbestos containment, cap integrity, site maintenance, barriers and fencing, and proper documentation.
