Wisconsin village given $60,000 in brownfield grants

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) awarded the village of Baldwin two Brownfield site assessment grants totaling $60,000 to help develop senior housing and an assisted care facility. The grant money will be used for asbestos abatement, demolition, abandoned container removal and phase two environmental site assessment activities at the former Jongquist Family Kitchen site to be redeveloped.

Baldwin is one of 26 Wisconsin municipalities to receive part of the over $1.5 million in Brownfield grants through the DNR Remediation and Redevelopment Program. These DNR Site Assessment Grants are awarded annually through a competition.
