Missouri junior high gets stimulus funds for renovations
The Poplar Bluff School District recently received a $23,000 stimulus grant from the Energize Missouri Communities grant program to help pay for renovations at the junior high school. The grant, which is funded through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, will go toward the replacement of lights and the installation of occupancy sensors to improve energy efficiency.
The $2.3 million renovation project will also include electrical upgrades, air conditioning upgrades and asbestos removal. The school district is looking into other grant opportunities to help pay for the project.
