Metal band frontman informs fans of his wife’s recent mesothelioma death
Brian Wright, frontman for Cvltvs Mortem, formerly known as Sonic Devastation, announced recently that the band’s recording hiatus has been due to the passing of his wife, Wendy, on February 3, following a seven-year battle with mesothelioma. Mesothelioma is a rare form of cancer caused by exposure to asbestos, a toxic mineral that was commonly used for insulation and fireproofing purposes until the 1970s.
Wright went on to explain that the pain, anger and hostility caused by his wife’s illness inspired much of his past music. With the support of his bandmates, he is ready to go back to the studio to work out his grief through black metal music.
