Two men cited for University of Wyoming asbestos issue
Mason Skiles and Dan Smith of Laramie have been cited by the Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality (DQE) for failing to comply with state air quality standards and regulations. The two men bought the five small buildings that caused an issue with asbestos contamination at the University of Wyoming last year, leaving asbestos debris behind after they removed the buildings. Asbestos is a toxic substance that is known to cause mesothelioma and other forms of cancer. The buildings had been sold to make room for new construction to contain the university’s botany and zoology collections.
