Homeless veteran organizes help for trailer fire victim

Steven Butler lost his home in a Montana trailer court to a February 15 fire. The owner of the trailer court, C&D Properties, has provided him another home rent-free since the blaze. But Butler’s biggest champion has been a homeless veteran named Randy Hart who helped organize six companies to remove the burnt remains of the trailer.

Hart convinced Tetra Tech to provide free asbestos testing and Safetech to complete the asbestos removal for free. He got two local contractors to bring in heavy machinery to handle the debris; Allied Waste Services provided trucks, drivers and trash bins. Perkins Restaurant & Bakery provided food.

A very grateful Butler is hoping to find a new trailer so he can continue to live in the same area.
