Man arrested for illegal asbestos storage
James Robert Soyars, 45, was arrested in Dallas, Texas, accused of using a Public Storage unit located in Denver, Colorado to improperly store asbestos waste. The asbestos materials are reputedly wastes left over from 2005 and 2006 Talon Environmental Inc. renovation projects on three properties located in Greeley, Colorado Springs and Aurora. Soyars is believed to have instructed employees to store the waste, a violation of the Federal Clean Air Act. Soyars’ wife, Denise Soyars, has made public statements declaring her husband’s innocence in the matter. She asserts that an employee improperly disposed of the asbestos material without direction from the company.
