VA hospital gets $16.4 million in stimulus funds

The Stratton VA Hospital in Albany, New York is getting a complete makeover as a result of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. One of the most important renovations the building will see is the removal of asbestos from the pipes and other areas of the building, which is expected to take nearly $3 million of the total budget. This will ensure the new building is safe for employees and patients. In addition to asbestos removal, more energy efficient windows will be installed, and several departments will see an expansion of their area to better serve the patients.
