Quebecor World building needs asbestos removed before demolition

The Illinois Environmental Protection Agency approved the demolition of the Quebecor Building in Selma with a special provision. There is 5,225 square feet of non-friable asbestos used in flooring tile glue that needs to remain undisturbed or it needs to be removed. Seed America, which received the building as a donation from Quebecor, must get proper documentation from an asbestos inspector licensed in Illinois before a demolition permit can be issued. McCloughan Contractors has been hired as the demolition contractor.
