Asbestos work 70% complete at Texas A&M student center

Construction work kept crews at Texas A&M busy while staff and students were on holiday break. The renovation of Memorial Student Center (MSC) was the most visible project that students noticed when they returned for classes. The MSC project is a priority, and it is coming along right on schedule. A progress report on December 11 stated that the project was also within budget.

About half of the demolition has been completed at the student center, with asbestos removal about 70% complete. Plumbing, mechanical and electrical work is still underway. The projected completion date for the project is March 30, 2012.
