Elmira armory demolition begins
EPIC Contracting has been hired for just over $1 million to perform the demolition of the Armory building and drill hall in Elmira, New York. Work began with asbestos abatement on January 19, with demolition to follow in mid-to-late February. Materials will also be salvaged during the demolition process, including architectural stones, bricks and the flagpole; these items will be saved for future projects. Framing lumber will also be salvaged from the buildings, helping to keep costs down for the demolition.
