Mental health center demolition may be inevitable
Public input has been requested regarding the fate of the former Brown County Mental Health Center in Wisconsin. The facility was replaced by the new Community Treatment Center in 2009, but the county is still responsible for the maintenance and security of the old structure. It could cost $1 million to demolish the old mental health center because of asbestos contamination. An evaluation is needed to determine how much asbestos is in the facility before further action can be taken.
