Former Fostoria site slated for cleanup and demolition
The old Fostoria site in Moundsville, West Virginia has been left to decay for over 20 years. Federal stimulus money is going to help the city finally demolish the site. A consulting firm will be coming in to develop the specifications for asbestos removal. The preliminary remedial action plan should be ready by mid-January, when it will be submitted to the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) for approval. After the asbestos is gone, there are four buildings and five smokestacks that need to be razed before the demolition is complete.
