Trinity’s 1515 Tower must be imploded by February 28

Trinity Development Group had asked for another extension to demolish 1515 Tower in Florida, but neighbors pleaded with the West Palm Beach City Commission not to grant the extension. 1515 Tower has been vacant for five years since it was damaged by hurricanes. A compromise was struck, and Trinity must implode the building by the original February 28 deadline, but they have until May 30 to clean up the debris and complete the demolition project. If the tower does not come down by February 28, Trinity will face a $1,000 per day fine. Asbestos in the building will not require the more expensive demolition that was initially recommended; Advanced Explosive Demolition Inc. of Idaho has signed the contract to implode the building without violating federal asbestos standards.
