Pennsylvania hospital to open new primary care and physical therapy facility

St. Luke’s Miners Memorial Hospital in McAdoo, Pennsylvania is planning to open a new primary care and physical therapy facility either by the end of this year or the beginning of next year. Richard Henry Construction is taking care of the renovations at the site. Half of the building will contain three exam rooms, a blood draw lab and a room for minor procedures for primary care. The other half of the building will be home to the physical therapists and rehabilitation specialists. Though they’ll be sharing the same building, the two practices will have separate identities.

The contractors hope to begin work in November after they receive the proper permits. Asbestos will have to be removed from the construction site before any other work can begin. Asbestos is a known carcinogen that can be commonly found in old buildings like the one that is being renovated for St. Luke’s. After work begins, the three-month contract should see the facility completed in either mid-December or early January.
