U.S. mesothelioma and other cancer patients can be prescribed Onsolis in mid-October

Meda Pharmaceuticals is launching BioDelivery Sciences International’s (BDSI) drug Onsolis in mid-October for use by patients in the United States who suffer from mesothelioma or other painful cancers.  Onsolis (fentanyl buccal soluble film) has been approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the treatment of breakthrough cancer pain in mesothelioma patients and other cancer patients age 18 and older who are already utilizing opioid drug therapy to treat their persistent cancer pain. The drug will be marketed specifically to oncologists, pain management physicians and other health care professionals who treat patients with breakthrough cancer pain.
