Federal sentencing postponed for New York contractor convicted of asbestos conspiracy

Mark Desnoyers of Adirondack Environmental Associates of Plattsburgh, New York was found guilty of conspiring to hide large traces of asbestos in area homes and businesses earlier this year. His co-conspirators, John Wood and Curtis Collins, have already been sentenced to federal prison and restitution, but Desnoyers’ sentencing has been postponed again, another delay since his original March sentencing date.

For two years, Wood and Collins conspired with Desnoyers to falsify air monitoring documents to fool clients into thinking their asbestos had been safely removed. Wood’s construction company intentionally left asbestos in buildings it was hired to abate, aided by Desnoyers’ false air quality reports.
