90-year-old Montana golf clubhouse to be torn down and replaced
The Hilands Golf Club clubhouse has been an icon in Helena, Montana for 90 years. The golf club, however, is building a new clubhouse, so the old one is being torn down in late September after asbestos removal is finished. The new clubhouse will cost $4.4 million to construct, but Hilands Golf Club will not need to increase membership dues much in order to pay for it. The old clubhouse was so inefficient that so the new building’s energy efficiency will provide enough savings to offset most of the cost of construction. Membership dues are expected to increase from $80 to $100 per month. The new clubhouse should be ready early next summer.
