Asbestos abatement company hired for Massachusetts factory demolition site
Patriots Environmental Corp. of Worcester, Massachusetts has been hired to remove asbestos and other hazardous materials from the former Automatic Machine Products factory in Attleboro for $208,000. Abatement work is scheduled to begin on September 23 and should take approximately 45 days to complete. Twenty-six companies had bid for the hazardous waste removal job.
Demolition bids for the factory site are due on September 30, with work scheduled to begin in January. Automatic left Attleboro for Taunton in 2008, and demolition of its old buildings will make way for reconstruction of Wall Street as part of a larger downtown revitalization project.
