ADAO pushes for asbestos ban on Labor Day
The Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization (ADAO) took Labor Day as an occasion to reaffirm the need for a ban on asbestos. On Labor Day, the United States honors its workforce, and the ADAO is committed to protecting members of the workforce from the dangers of asbestos exposure in their daily jobs. Numerous workers are still unknowingly exposed to asbestos every day because this known carcinogen is not yet fully banned from use in the United States.
ADAO hopes that Congress will pass asbestos ban legislation that combines the strongest language of S.R. 742 and H.R. 6903, and that President Obama will sign the bill into law.
ADAO Executive Director Linda Reinstein and official ADAO spokesperson Jordan Zevon remember the legacy of Jordan’s father Warren Zevon, who died of mesothelioma six years ago. Jordan continues to spread the word about the importance of the bill so he can find justice for his father’s killer, asbestos, with a full ban on the substance.
