Lake County distributes brownfield redevelopment funds to four projects

Lake County in Illinois has approved $350,000 in matching funds for four brownfield redevelopment projects. North Chicago is receiving $100,000 to clean up Pettibone Creek and $50,000 to clean up a former gas station. Lake Zurich is receiving $100,000 to clean up a former police station site that had large underground gas tanks. Highland Park is receiving $100,000 to remove asbestos and lead paint from the Karger Center before it can be transformed into a family support center. All four projects must be completed within one year in order to receive the funding.
