DuPont sued by mother and son of mesothelioma victim in Texas
Albert Abshire – a former employee of DuPont De Nemours in Jefferson County, Texas – died of mesothelioma and asbestosis on December 23, 2008. His widow and his son, Margaret Abshire and Richard Abshire, filed a lawsuit on July 31 against DuPont for allowing its employees to work around asbestos, knowing how hazardous it was, and failing to warn its employees of the dangers to their health.
The Abshire family stated that Albert died a terrible and painful death due to DuPont’s actions. They are seeking punitive and exemplary damages, plus costs and interest at the legal rate, as well as other relief to which they may be entitled.
