Ohio town to spend $2m grant on asbestos removal and demolition of State Road Plaza
Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio was awarded a $2 million grant for asbestos removal and demolition of the State Road Plaza. Fences have been put up for the demolition to begin in August. Asbestos abatement work will be performed by Precision Environmental, and demolition work will be performed by B&B Wrecking and Excavating of Cleveland.
Work on the interior of the plaza was scheduled to start on August 3, with a demolition ceremony scheduled to take place with Mayor Don Robart on August 21 and demolition work to begin three days later. The site should be cleared by November, and redevelopment plans are still being negotiated.
