Ohio wrecking company hit with air pollution fines

Eslich Wrecking Co. of Louisville was fined $16,294 for air quality violations in its East Akron stone-crushing business. The company’s dust control was found inadequate in a 2003 inspection.

The company and its owner already paid nearly $100,000 in 2007 for illegal disposal of asbestos materials and other violations associated with the demolition of six buildings. The earlier settlement also required the company to conduct an asbestos survey and install protections against asbestos release.
