Milan, Mich. elementary school needs asbestos removal
Voters will consider a bond issue that would fund much needed asbestos removal at Symons Elementary School in Milan, Michigan. The school’s plumbing fixtures are surrounded by crumbling asbestos insulation from the school’s 1969 construction. The school also has asbestos-containing floor tiles that need to be removed. Milan area school officials say these and other repairs and improvements are desperately needed, although they will be largely invisible to students and the public.
