Mesothelioma patients: Registration open for ADAO conference

The Fifth Annual Asbestos Awareness Day Conference will be held March 27 through March 29, 2009 at the Manhattan Beach Marriott located in Manhattan Beach, California. To register or get more information about the conference, go to the ADAO website.

The Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization (ADAO) hosts the conference each year to bring together mesothelioma patients and their families with medical experts and scientists from around the world. The conference will offer medical information about asbestos-related diseases, particularly early detection of these diseases, and information about occupational and environmental exposure to asbestos and how it can be prevented.

The keynote speaker, musician Jordan Zevon, lost his father Warren Zevon, also a gifted musician, to mesothelioma in 2003. The ADAO was founded the following year. Zevon has been an outspoken advocate for asbestos victims since his father’s own diagnosis.
