UK’s Bishop of Peterborough will retired early to battle mesothelioma
Rev, Ian Cundy, the Bishop of Peterborough, has announced that he will take early retirement to deal with his cancer. The Bishop has been diagnosed with pleural mesothelioma, an asbestos-related cancer that affects the lining of the lungs. Although Rev. Cundy is undergoing chemotherapy and actively fighting his cancer, he says that his condition will make it very difficult for him to carry out his duties. Rev. Cundy has spent 12 years at the Peterborough diocese.
