Mesothelioma and Asbestos Disease Society makes grant to West Grove, Pennsylvania school

The Mesothelioma and Asbestos Disease Society has made a grant of $13,535 to the Assumption BVM School in West Grove, Pennsylvania. The award will enable the parochial school to remove the asbestos ceiling and floor tiles from 4 classrooms and the school’s main building. Assumption BVM has 225 students, and the main building is used weekly by the community for group meetings. The school’s students raised $7,535 themselves by participating in the Society’s five-mile “Meso Walk” in Philadelphia on Boat House Row. The Society’s additional $6,000 grant supplied the remaining funds to be put toward the remediation effort. The Mesothelioma and Asbestos Disease Society was founded by the Harahan family of Exton, Pennsylvania, and is devoted to causes related to mesothelioma, a incurable cancer linked with asbestos exposure.
