Anderson, Indiana building collapses, bringing asbestos with it

One late night in July, an old, decaying building in Anderson, Indiana simply could not stand up a minute longer. The structure collapsed. Though no one was hurt, the falling bricks did take out a neighbor’s boat and fence. The neighbors had been complaining to the city for years about the blighted property. Now the city is expected to spend around $300,000 to clean up the rubble, which unfortunately contains asbestos, used tires and underground gas storage tanks.
