The Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) will hold a series of Asbestos Awareness Seminars to educate small communities and contractors about asbestos regulations and how to comply with them. The seminars will be free and open to anyone. Last October, the ADEQ launched its Route 66 Asbestos Initiative to help communities deal safely with the hazards of asbestos that is present in many older buildings in Arizona. The Initiative was also intended to help communities that already faced asbestos contamination to clean up contaminated sites.
