Environmental health and air pollution officials have obtained a search warrant and will continue their investigation of illegal construction in asbestos-containing buildings at the former Cambria Air Force Station in San Luis Obispo County. The illegal activity could have exposed any of the dozen people living on the base or the 50 people who attend church there each week to asbestos, a fibrous mineral that can cause various forms of cancer, including mesothelioma that attacks the lining of the lungs or abdomen.
