Community Center in Bonner Springs, KS gets acoustic makeover after asbestos removal

The gymnasium in the Bonner Springs Community Center was known as a great venue for concerts and other activities until the asbestos insulation was removed in the 1990s. Removing the asbestos insulation without installing a substitute created a 7-second echo and destroyed the acoustics. By the end of October, sound-absorbing panels will be installed on the gymnasium’s walls and baffles, paid for through liquor taxes.
