Owners of Senagryph Training Facilities, an asbestos removal school in New York, have been charged by the Queens District Attorney with fraud for allegedly providing social security numbers and answers to state certification exam questions to students who were training for state certification in asbestos removal. Hundred of asbestos abatement workers have been certified by the school, many of whom worked on public projects such as the Port Authority of NY and NJ. Of those former Senagryph trainees who went to work for the Port Authority, 80 to 85 percent appear to have obtained their certification fraudulently. If convicted, the defendants face up to seven years in prison.
