The Asbestos Disease Foundation of Australia is calling for more research into the effects of asbestos on the residents of Baryulgil, a former asbestos mining community on the north coast of New South Wales.A recent report found approximately 20 percent of area residents have had or will develop mesothelioma and other diseases caused by asbestos. The foundation is concerned that some cases may have been overlooked.
