Study Says Patients Not Telling Doctors About Alternative Therapies

Close to two-thirds of people age 50 and over don’t tell their doctors about alternative health therapies they use, according to a recent survey conducted by the AARP and the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine. According to an article appearing in the March 2007 edition of the AARP Bulletin, failing to tell your doctor about such therapies–which include herbal supplements and acupuncture, among others–may be a mistake.
